The Stopt Diapason

The Stopt Diapason (often abbreviated TSD) is the copyrighted official journal of the Chicago-Midwest Chapter of the Organ Historical Society.

From issue Vol. 1 No.1 of March 1980 through the most recent issue Whole Number 155 of Summer 2024, The Stopt Diapason has presented research, history, specifications, photographs and news of interest about area pipe organs; it has documented past and future chapter activities and presented calendars of upcoming area organ recitals. The TSD has been a resource not only for Chicago-Midwest Chapter members, but also for the national headquarters of the Organ Historical Society, for other OHS local chapters, and for non-members interested in historical pipe organs, as well.

This page of our new website is devoted to making all issues of The Stopt Diapason accessible as pdfs. Various indexes for TSD content will be available as well. Adding these issues to our website is ongoing work behind the scenes.  In the meantime, the following eleven recent issues of TSD are available for viewing as pdfs.  (To download and view the pdfs, click the underlined issue number.)
